Here's what I've been doing for the past ten years (wow, already?).
I completed my BS in Environmental Education from the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point in December 2002. Then I worked at Brookfield Zoo near Chicago while waiting for my Peace Corps application to go through. From 2003-2005 I did Peace Corps in El Salvador, Central America. After my service, I still wasn't ready for a real job, so I decided to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail (2175 miles from Georgia to Maine). That took me six months, and I met my new hiking partner/ boyfriend on the trail. After hiking we moved to Taos, New Mexico to be ski instructors. Last summer we moved up to Fairbanks, Alaska to work on an organic farm. I decided to get my Masters, so now I am working on my Masters in Environmental and Outdoor Education at Alaska Pacific University.
My passion is backpacking. I also love canoeing and kayaking- any excuse to be outside! I have no idea what I will do after school, but Jonathan and I talk about buying land and either building a strawbale house or getting a yurt. We have a 65 pound American Bulldog puppy named Mini who we just rescued a few weeks ago! I still play my fiddle, and recently picked up the mandolin. Life is good. As long as we still have natural places to escape to, I think the future looks good. Because of grad school, I won't be able to make it to the reunion. Have a great time reunioning:-)
